Apologies for sticking this in the stackers thread, but as clothing stores comes under supply I thought this was as good a place as any.

What badges are we supposed to have on our CS95 these days? I work in civvies and don't often get to see SROs so am not upto speed on the latest clothing regs. I've got a couple of weeks off so can get over to my local unit if necessary to get my kit up to scratch. I already have the RAF identity patch but rumour control tells me Im supposed to have some other badge on the sleeve of the shirt.

I meant to ring clothing stores before my leave started but you know what it's like trying to get everything done before you go away......

Cheers for any advice.

Get in!

According to our Clothing Stores the latest 'must have' badges for CS95 are as follows...

Union Flag Badge - left arm, 1" below shoulder seam.

RAF Identity Badge - above right hand breast pocket.

RAF Tactical Recognition Flash - right arm, approx 4 fingers width down from shoulder seam.

I've got mine on my CS95 shirts & field jacket. Not for para smocks/windproofs.

Hope this helps? :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Thanks for that Norman.

Looks like I'm a bit behind the times with my kit :PDT_Xtremez_42:

One trip to clothing stores coming right up!

Reminds me of a girl I once knew.

Seriously though, does anybody know if there are anymore badges on the horizon?

Hmm thought the DZ flash replaced the need for the 'royal air force' badge. Also I f you are part of JHC you have their badge on the arm too!

And the Harrier Force wear the "Joint Force Harrier" badge. Next we could have different coloured bands to indicate trade, like RN officers do...(Green for medicl types etc!)

Has any one seen the collection worn by TCW. RAF on chest with name other side (optional?), Union Jack, TRF, TCW Badge and a signals TRF. ....Does anyone know where my merit and hobbies badge go??? Not sure if this is good or bad..... along as it does not go too American I,ve seen some shoulder badges to size of dinner plates and full of bright colours. GOOOOD JAAAB!

25m swimming badge goes on left breast pocket,

Knot tying badge goes on right breast pocket,

Equal Ops trained badge goes above royal air farce badge,

Sand Bag Filling goes on right sleeve,

"Originally RAF, now not sure which defence force" to be stapled across forehead.

Feel free to put any other form of green badge where there is space like other people seem to do these days!

One onf the guys I work with has a cs95 t-shirt fully badged up just in case the boss comes in and asks where his badges are!

I am still wearing my swimming badges on my pants as girl bait!

blimey "I look like Bruce Willis", I didn't recognise you :)

I refuse to get that pathetic 'Royal Air Farce' badge on my greens. I know which branch of the armed forces I joined, the beret sort of gives it away IMHO. DZ flash....wasn't so sure about that until I got out here, but it does make sense. All these other crap badges.....aload of old cock. I'm debating whether to pop down the jingly tailors and have my Tufty Club badge sewn on, but where do I have it put..........:PDT_Xtremez_14:

I refused to wear my CS95 Deserts in Bas with the union jack on it. Boy did it cause a fuss with the rock apes. Mind you I did sew a huge St Andrews Flag over the UJ. Ho Ho. I went into the mess tent for some out of date food and was grabbed by said rock ape and asked what flag it was. I said it was MY national flag. So he said that it was the UK that payed my wages and I was a disgrace. So since I had been up all night servicing one of our fleets finest, I turned around and said that I did this sort of stuff for fun and that I dont get paid I do it for free. Made hin feel about six inches tall and got the p*ss ripped out of him by his fellow apes.

Never botherd me again. Funny that!:PDT_Xtremez_32:

Now that the "Albert-Ross" has been re-introduced to the No1 uniform along with the belt, I have heard rumours that the powers-to-be are going to bring back the .303 rifle and Vera Lynn.

Union flags don't come on the shirts now unless "you're going to a theatre that requires them" according to my clothing stores bloke. So my shirts issued before this directive have them on and my jacket - issued after - does not!

Your clothing stores bloke is talking cods. According to AP1358, Dress Regulations of the RAF the UJ is a standard badge, not theatre dependant.

BTW, the UJ badge will come as standard on all future CS95 shirts (a'la the desert shirt) just as soon as the new contract starts.
