I'm assigned on promotion when I get back from daan saarf in January. My daughter is in her A2 year in the local 6th form so don't think I'll have any problems retaining the FQ while she's still studying.

I plan to buy in locally in August if in can but there's a worry that I'll outstay my welcome in the FQ and become non entitled. I'd rather spin my occupancy out as long as I can but does anyone have any experience of this? Is the escalation to local commercial rates or even worse. ..forced eviction a clockwork process or is there some flexibility? I'm relaxed about paying full rate rent while I sort out a house...but bailiffs at dawn isn't something I'm keen to experience!

Has somebody seen SPECTRE recently given the title of this thread?

from a legal stand point eviction they (MOD or their appointed managing agents) will need to apply for a warrant of eviction to end your license in order for a bailiff to turn up (must admit I don't know if these days it's a license or short hold assured tenancy you regs sign for MQ's), best off talk to your Housing Officer (or what ever they are called under the our sourced contract). Obviously a warrant of eviction having to be issued won't do your career any good I'd have thought! Again my experience of such things isn't linked to tied accommodation as is the case with service personnel, but I did a fair few when I worked a beat when Housinf Associations requested our presence and I've got a flat I manage so my experience comes from that.
 
They would have to apply for a repossession order through court. You could represent your case for staying and potentially win. It has taken the mod years to evict some cases which seemed straight forward at the time.

With it being a licence and not a tenancy I'm confident no court order is required. Only "reasonable" notice to leave is required aswell.
 
Mate, I know of someone who has been in the same FQ at Cottesmore for about 20 years. Their 17 year old son is at school with my daughter and its a standing joke that he is probably the only scaley to reach adulthood whilst living in one MQ!

They have used every reason going to stay there.
 
There are several cases of non-entitled occupants out staying their welcome for years not months...

Nope you still need an bailiff to evict, instead of a notice of seeking possession the landlord or managing agent just serves a Notice To Quit, waits the require time and then applies for possession through the County Court, normall without the need for a hearing
 
I needed an extra 6 months in a quarter after a posting and waiting for my house to be built. I made contact with the housing people, sorted, no issues.

Probably depends on how many quarters are available at the unit.

I had a similar thing, again no dramas.
