Afternoon everyone,

As per the first part of the title, my current situation.
I received a letter last week confirming my potential start date and PRTC date. I signed the little slip saying I could attend and posted it ten minutes later.
Basically i'm just wondering what happens next. I'm assuming I still need to get a letter regarding kit list? Should I be getting a phone call at some point or another letter sent to me? If so, when?

Secondly; employment.
I was wondering when is best to hand in my notice to my current employer? My employer needs 30 days notice and I wasn't sure when exactly to give that notice because on the letter it says 'potential' and not to hand in my notice of termination, as dates could change. Does anyone know when these dates become guaranteed?

Also, what would anyone recommend regarding a break between leaving current employment and starting Halton. My potential Halton start date is 16/09/09, I was perhaps thinking of aiming to leave my current job around the middle of August, which gives me a month off before starting Halton to see family/get super fit, etc. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Cheers all.

You now have your dates for Pre-RTC and a date to attest or join the RAF. What should happen now is that you will receive a letter a little nearer the date in September telling you where you need to be and what you need to bring for Pre-RTC....these are called joining instructions. Once you have completed Pre-RTC you will be given a date for your final interview at your AFCO. This is the reason you are still classed as a potential recruit. You could still fail at interview. If you pass your final interview you will be given all the information you require for you to join on your Attest date. With regards as to when to finish work thats purely a personal decision, do what you think works best for you.

Cheers for that mate that's exactly what I needed!
