Thinking about applying for the 3yr holiday tour but can anyone give me an idea what sort of loa is been dished out at moment and if it is going to be cut which ive heard on the jungle drums, married 2 kids ...
Any info would be great thanks !

Seansmiler is the man to talk to he is there now, things will have changed since i came back in 2002:PDT_Xtremez_28:

No idea about the LOA, which is no help to your question I know! The snec at Aki is really cool though!! I was on your course, so you know who I am!!!! Finally got myposting to Brize, start Jul.

Came back in 2005 as Sgt with 2 kids LOA then was about £25 a day but may have changed

Whaaaaat!

Whaaaaat!

Just a quick question for you?

Why can't you just be happy in the fact of going to Cyprus instead of worrying about how much extra money your going to get, the experience in it self should be payment enough. I would give the RAF money to get a posting like that (and before the critics start, Yes I have applied)::/:

Would you go if there was no extra money?:PDT_Xtremez_08:

Just being objective.

1. Mortgatge, your problem not the RAF's
2. Wife and Kids, Your Choice, could of kept the old todger in ye pants (PS I have a wife & three Kids)
3. Responsibilities, sheponsimilities. more than you'll ever know, with great power comes great responsibilities. deal with it!
4. Where has all this 'the RAF owes me' attitude come from, 'in my day' you joined up to do something for your country!

Mac, I think I know you, your nightmares may come back to haunt you.

Have you got a sister?

If it's any help, there's one come up for shape as well. now that's a far and few between posting!!!!

wasn't for lack of trying mind. had to fight the old co-location arguement for ages. apparently 48.7 miles each way, with 14 hour night shifts came under that bracket???????????? doh! anyway, got it sorted now, justcan't wait to start my new job, actually looking forward to it. mind you, think i may have to take a basket weaving course after that last comment tee hee!!

100 miles is the official threshold for co-location if memory serves me correctly

not 100% to be honest. i was told 50 by the drafters. i know that they pay htd up to 50 miles and 75 in certain circumstances. i know that compared to some, i was lucky to live that close by other standards, but quality of life has been crap, especially when we've been on blind shifts or even on shift at the same time. we do a navy shift, so 3 nights/3 days. over the last few months, i've been hot bedding with hubby, not the best situation to be in. i saw him more when i was on at at cosford than when i was at work!!

got the bncc, so nice day job (first time in 10 years!) and can walk to work. also get 1 and half lie in now too!!

rodger doger, i hoping that your reply is just trying to get macc lad angry. You seemed to have an axe wound on your shoulder, he was only asking the question that everyone asks. Cyprus isn't that cheap a place to live, well unless you like pork and petrol.
You seemed to be fairly partronising aswell, i suggest sun shine that you pull that neck in, i'm guessing you still live at home with mum.
