Can anyone tell me exactly what this is? I pay it, but cant remember exactly what it is.

From what I remember, its some form of life insurance that we were all press ganged into signing up to at Halton.

Hopefully someone out there knows!

The details are all listed in AP3392 Vol 2 Leaflet 2406 Annex A. This is available on the intranet. However I can't find a coy on the intranet so I can't paste any details on here due to forum rules.

basically, it provides a (very small) tax-free annual income to your dependants in the event of your death. The actual amount paid depends on how many units you purchase.

I think the basics are a lump sum of £10000 and an annual sum of around £1200 split over 12 months. In the process of changing who gets mine at the moment.

Further to other posts, each unit represents a £10000 unit. So if you have 5 units, within 48 hrs of your demise your next of kin would be paid 5 x £10000 (£50000) or at least thats how it was recently explained to me by the guy running it. It is known as the Dependant Income Trust. The forms are available via PSF/HR. They however, need to be sent to an address that is currently on Brize as that is where it is currently based. I can't speak for any annual payments as I don't recall that part of the conversation. Hope this helps but probably not as it looks out of date!

Is this done via PSF?

Yes, done on the same form. Normally comes with about 4 sheets to it and is carbonated. The change of name bit appears at the bottom of the form but you will more than likely need to complete the entire form as I did recently. Hope this helps! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Sorry to gate crash your question but, are the address details of your family/nominated person updated through what you have on JPA?? Or, do you have to do it manually?

Not for this apparently. It would seem that whoever was first named would be paid out, unless you have subsequently got married which would probably make your spouse the 'entitled'.
