Hi one and all,
My name is Derek Cridland and I live in Viersen, Germany, not a million miles away from JHQ and the former RAF Brüggen. I am an English ‘civi’ and have had thegood fortune to live here in Germany for the last 32 years, with the last 15 or so here in the Niederrhein.
The Dalmacija Grill near Brüggen has been my restaurant of choice since moving to this part of the world and whilst dining there, or should I say ‘stuffing my face’there, last Wednesday evening, I mentioned to the owner, Mr. Kursar Jr. that I had found this web-site of yours and that I had read a post or two bemoaning the fact that the writers were no longer able to eat at his highlyregarded establishment.
The ever courteous Mr. Kursar ask me if I would post his family’s very best regards to all ex BFG personnel and their families for their past custom and the fond memoriesyou have all left behind.
I can assure you all, that the Dalmacija Grill has not altered one iota, and that the food there is still as good, plentiful and ‘gunstig’ as it ever was and you canbe assured of a warm welcome there should you ever have the good fortune to be able to visit the Grill again. I certainly look forward to my next visit there!
I was a member of both the JHQ diving and sailing clubs in the past, but as the UK based civilians that invited and enabled me to join the clubs have now returned to theUK, life here has become pretty dull - so I also would like to take this opportunity to thank all concerned for the good times that I shared with you over the past years.

Hi Derek, I live on the other side of the border near Nijmegen now. Did 2 tours at Bruggen .... have good memories too & my son was born in Viersen hospital. Interesting to read what you wrote.
