Because like eveything else the MoD procures, they dont think things through. Well at least some AM/AVM/ACM will have a job for life with IBM/HP or whoever won the contract.

I believe CTRL K has stopped working on LDCN because the RAF did not fund the licence.

The GAL (Global Address List) on DII C (the current RAF IT system) is in a completely different encoding protocol to the addresses of DII F. I think DII F can Ctrl K and find addresses on DII C but it won't work the other way round. It's all about the way the SMTP addresses are created on the exchange server.

DII to DII should be fine. If on RAF Mail, go to the emsed website, stick their surname in and initial if required, then click the `mail now` link.

Of course this all relies on the emsed record being up to date...

And yes, DII is ****, with all it's service level agreements. `4 hours for a password reset sir..!`

ETA: It costs a ****ing bomb.
