define: Fast Jet

So I was wondering... They will probably ask in my interview what fast jet aircraft are being used. But what defines a fast jet? Super-sonic? In which case it is only the Typhoon and Tornado right? The Harrier is not super-sonic and I'm not sure if the Hawk is, but the Hawk is only used as a trainer regardless.

As MC said the answer above shows you've looked into it. From a liney POV Fast jet is single or twin seat fighter/bomber/trainer. Although a smarty pants answer would be that the VC10 is one of the fastest jet airlinersDT_Xtremez_30:

If pushed on the subject I would say its any single or twin seat air to air/air to ground jet aircraft plus the hawk trainer. We don't own that many these days so just name them indivdually!!

Im Fighting the urge to say the definition of a fast jet is......

"a really fast jet propelled aircraft which is quicker that a slow one or even a turboprop (which could never be as fast, not even in a dive so don't bother trying)
