I am due to move shortly from Northern Ireland over to the England...I currently privately rent a house with my girlfriend and baby..Obviously seeing as we are not married we are not entitled to Service accomodation and rent houses wherever I am posted...I was wondering if anyone knew whether I would be entitled to assistance with the cost of removals as you can imagine the cost is quite high moving from Northern Ireland...Any help greatly appreciated

Yes, however technically speaking your GF isnt, and should arrange to move her own things. But if all the stuff is in boxes....

When you claim DA, make sure when it comes to the question about how many people you share with, you put zero, as putting 2, 3 etc will result in your claim being spilt by 50% etc. A lot of "Co-habiting" servicemen seem to make that mistake.

My DA claim was seriously fcuked up due to the above point. I was initially paid it then had to pay it back, was re paid it, had to pay it back and eventually I ended up with the full amount!

I understand that 'co-habiting' seen as something similar to flat sharing and not a couple living together, that was how it was explained to me anyway!
