Morning all,

Just seen on the manning website that volunteers are being sought for Detainee Handling at Bastion.

Anyone done it? What does it involve?? Is it worth volunteering for...?

PMs prefered due to Op-Sec.

Many thanks

Sorry for being way Off Topic but a long time ago in a not so sunny or Sandy Suffolk Phantom base as Orderly Cpl I was responsible for detaining a couple of lineys I knew from the other squadron in the guardroom cells over night.

After supper was over out they came to make a 4 for bridge with the duty Airman and me. Coffee tea and bacon butties from the airmans mess (DA was a cook) meant that duty flew by.

I know a lad who volunteered for similar duties, the drafter told him "no problem, keep an eye on your workflow". Three weeks later his DWR came through, Falklands. Never trust a drafter if you do volunteer.
