i have just read a previous thread about eligibility ofdisturbance allowance, consequently i read jsp 752 chapter 3.
reason for this is because i got married a few months ago now which made me eligible for a quarter, at the time when i first found out about disturbance allowance i put the claim in but the chief clerk said i wasnt entitled because it was classed as a first move.

let me clarify, i moved from trade training to my base where i have been living in the block, then got married which changed my eligibilty to move into sfa. the jsp i read hasnt really made me understand whether the chief clk was correct or not.............anyone know for sure as if i am enitled the money would come in handy for crimbo. cheers guys

In this circumstance you are definately not entitled to the money. Your 1st move into married quarters does not attract DA. For a small window post JPA introduction there was a loophole in the JSP which allowed DA in your crcumstance but that has now been closed.

Chf Clk is correct. You got married after your posting which made all the difference therefore is definitely classed as first setting up of home.
