Along with the usual:

ATC
Sqn ops
what else is there?
what about satellite tracking in the UKMCC(kinloss). there must be loads

Historically there were always been a wide range of jobs thrown at TG9. Back in the early 80's, when the RAF had its own Map Store, it was run by a Corporal and two SAC's. TG9 took over BCU for quite a while, which seemed to be treated as a glorified sin bin. There was a post at Weston on the Green for an SAC, I'm not quite sure what they did. All the Blip Drivers at Shawbury were RAF until about 9 years ago.

Are there still any junior ranks at the ranges?

The SAC was (or at least It was in 1977) the DZ radio operator and Odd Job Bod (anything that Station WO wanted doing) I have swept the hanger floor on more than one occasion!!DT_Xtremez_19:

Maritime Ops job with NATO in NAples anyone? Three TG9 Cpl's currently posted there & Flt ops Flt Lt.

JHF(NI) Ops in Northern Ireland - 3 x Sgt FOM, 2 x Cpl & 5 x SAC Slots. Working in a Joint ops Room environment with AAC personnel.

He's upset because he doesn't get the chance to work with our AAC Cousins day-in, day-out like I do!!

That said, it'll be a culture shock for him after working half days with 2hr lunch breaks thrown in...
