The first eight bars of the RAF March were apparently based on the RNAS and RFC calls. Does anyone know, or can anyone determine, which 4 were the RFC and which the RNAS?

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but when you fart its always in the same note as the opening of the march past.

I think that the first four were RNAS followed by the second four being the RFC, or it could have been the other way round, or they could have taken the first two bars from the RNAS then the middle four from the RFC and then ended with the last two from the RNAS or it could have been the other way round.

Hope this helps.

On a more serious note, wikipedia says the same (though doesn't state which is where) - I did not know that.

Every day a school day.

Thanks for the Wikopedia info. I note that it mentions an RFC bugle call which is interesting as our service uses the cavalry trumpet. Not being a musician I wouldn't know but to my untrained ear the first eight sounds like two bugle calls.

Thanks also to the other irreverent posts - take seven days jankers each for impertinence but keep them coming..

By the centre...................................everybody HALT!!!!
