We're flying from East Midlands to (London)Derry airport on Ryanair later in the year with our then 3 month old...Now as adults we need photo id (passport, driving license), but will she? I don't really want to go through the hassle of a passport at this age and it is an internal flight within the United Kingdom....anyone been in this position before?

I would check with your airline now mate. I have a nagging suspicion though that she will. I seem to recall reading something in one of the papers that from sometime last year everybody child or not needed their own passports but you get free replacements every so often.

Got to admit it is only a vague recollection of something I read though.

Lifted straight from the Ryanair site :

Photo-ID for children under 16 years is not required for:
  • Children travelling with an adult between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland or domestic flights within either the United Kingdom or Ireland

Took my kids to Prestwick from Stansted in November. No ID required for kids, but took birth certificates just in case. Never asked for them.
