Hi all I'm currently on sbt and where doin mjdi and well i have come across a question that my instructor can't answer .... What comes in 'cakes' or 'carboys' if any fellow stacker can answer this please get in touch cheers

carboys was Acid many years ago.

For you info DofQ will be replaced by UOI (Unit of Issue) in the not to distant future.

The way to find out is to use Discoverer at a big unit and search on the DofQ you wish to find.

Milk and sugar comes in cakes.... boom boom!!

I have never heard of something coming in either of them DofQ's. Why would you want to know what specifically comes in that DofQ? You never have to know what each NSN comes in as you can always just do a quick Item Interrogation which will provide you of the answers you need to know. In fact if memory serves correct if you try to demand something and use the wrong DofQ MJDI will pop up to tell you that it is the wrong DofQ and that you may need to adjust your quantities accordingly. I haven't demanded something with the wrong DofQ for a long time so I stand to be corrected on that point.

Dad W is correct. Carbouys are used for storing acid. They would probably be used somewhere like the battery bay.

Back in the day when we supplied everything & I was a fresh faced LAC in POL, I was given the immense responsibility of being in charge of cleaning materials! Wow!

I used to have big blocks of beeswax & carbolic soap in my little store. The DofQ was 'cakes'. But they didn't taste like cake...trust me.

I love cake!

cakes of soap?

cakes of soap?

I'm sure we used to get Green Carbolic soap in Cakes, in the late 80's, I know we used to cut it in to smaller bars for the monthly issue of 'cleaning products' - but I could be wrong, Machrihanish had that effect on the 'inmates'!

The carboy is still in use as far as I know for Acid, they used to be an exchange item as well 1-4-1!

Off TopicThe reason they still use them on MJDI is that the range managers have not changed SCCS- try telling them if the DofQ, is wrong or could be better described they will amend the records-I know I do- oh yes I do it just takes a while!
SS3 has a few additional DofQ's as well by all accounts! Off Topic
