Download Festival 10th-12th June 2011

Line up (as of 29/1/11):

  • System Of a Down (Back after hiatus)
  • Last time I saw them I left early, didn't enjoy them live at all, ok on record though
  • Linkin Park
  • Seen the 3 times, OK live but the new album has to be the bigest disapointment ever
  • Pendulum
  • Crap dance band who seem to pop up at all the rock festivals. They were at last year's Sonisphere and it was like a single 1 hour long song.
  • Avenged Sevenfold
  • At best average, now riding a wave of sympathy for their deceased drummer
  • Bullet For My Valentine
  • Don't like them at all
  • Rob Zombie
  • Yes please
  • Korn
  • Great live band, but saw them at Ozzfest last year
  • Alice Cooper
  • Saw him at Sonisphere last year, the show didn't transfer to the festival stage veryy well. I thought he was brilliant when I saw him at Wembley arena, but found him a bit stale at Sonisphere.
  • Alter Bridge
  • Abolutely brilliant band, both recorded and live. However saw them last year on their ABIII tour
  • Danzig
  • Don't know them
  • The Cult
  • Good, but again, saw them last year
  • Thin Lizzy
  • Might as well be a tribute band
  • Buckcherry
  • I love this band! The only band on the lineup that I would want to see but didn't see last year (I saw them 2 years ago) hoping they do something small in the UK while they are over here for Download.

I went to Sonisphere, Download and High Voltage last year. Decided that I am only going to be doing one or two this year. High Voltage is a definate, because it is well organised, compact and full of the older rock bands.
Last year's camping experience put me off Download, the camp sites were far to packed, not enough toilets and a 2mile+ walk from the campsite to the festival was crap.

So looks like Sonisphere and High Voltage this year, unless the rest of the Sonisphere bands announced are rubbish, then it will just be High Voltage.
