Would I get kicked out of the RAF for being arrested 4 drink driving??

Fella on this forum we don't really "do" text speak...just some friendly advice.

Now assuming you are genuine, I currently have 2 SACs who work for me that are serving bans for DD, both on formal warnings.

Hope this helps.

It depends on the outcome in court.

To my shame I was convicted of DD and OC P1 told me that if the outcome was community service or worse that the powers that be may look at admin discharge due to the fact that I was not deployable.

I got a straight ban and formal warning but all the good assessments prior to conviction were out of the window so promotion gone.

I did the crime so did the time no gripes, my stupidity.

Also depends on your trade, I know some MTD's have served with bans but it would be a case by case basis.

I also know of MTDs forced to remuster as they are no longer fit for trade.

Normal process would be formal warning IIRC but these days who knows - I certainly would not want to be the first to find out!!

About 3 weeks ago, one of my SACs recieved a formal warning only.

Unfortunately have known to many convicted but worst I've seen has only been Formal Warning.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I no there will obviously be major consequences no matter what the outcome I just really dont want to lose my job. What exactly is a formal warning?

You get to meet the Staish, though there is a notable absence of tea, biscuits and bonhomie.

After he has gottent angry with you you get a letter saying you are on notice for 6 months and if you transgress things are going to get really, really unpleasant for you.

You're a serving member and don't know what a formal warning is?

Or are you a wannabe recruit who has fecked up?

You get to meet the Staish,

In my case formal warning recommended by Harry Staish, rubber stamped by HQ Command, administered by Sqn Cmdr.

What ever the outcome make sure you keep your head down and nose clean for the 6 months after the FW (if administered) and then move on.

No matter how well you behave afterwards, you will not be getting your LS&GCM either. DD is one of the offences that permanently disbars you from receiving it.

Got mine from Harry(adds a bit of gravity to the occasion).

Top tip......dont frame it and put it above your bed in the block, had to do some fast talking bullsh!t about it being there to remind me of the need to knuckle under etc,etc after i was accused of treating it like a trophy when it was spotted there on a wingcos inspection!!:PDT_Xtremez_42:

I thought in such an event your tally of 15 years undetected crime starts from scratch before you are elegible to earn it once again? :PDT_Xtremez_41:

Umm. Nope.

Brilliant, hopefully that snivelling little thief who on 2 occasions got done for DD (+ the theft of an HGV whilst on drugs!) and left a certain VSTOL OCU earlier this year finds out soon enough.

Mind you, he'll rat his way around it like he managed with his tapes no doubt........ :PDT_Xtremez_32:

Well, you'll probably be pretty safe, just stand there and say "its not like I kicked seven bell of S**t out of some one at Wittering"
