Drink flying

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Not drink driving but drink flying if this article is correct some folks in the two winged master race could be in trouble. Possibly because of a big party the night before and not enough bottle to throttle time, all allegedly of course. But we are a rumour site

"The captain of an RAF Voyager was arrested on suspicion of drink-flying moments before his jet was due to take off. Military police stopped the refuelling tanker as it was taxiing down the runway at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. The pilot and one crew member were arrested after allegedly failing a breathalyser test and taken to a military detention centre."

In the commercial world they'd be in prison.
Leeds crown court jailed a Pakistani capt t'other year. (Properly jailed, not a symbolic couple of weeks.)

it was 8 hours on Nims and 12 on Sentry. Whilst we spun dits around wild times, on the whole, we played the game to the letter of the law.

well done however to the person(s) that had the balls to stand up and report it.
Indeed a pat on the back for those who reported it. However just mulling over bits and pieces in the rumour mill that is old TB's noggin.
Was it so glaringly obvious that people were over the limit that something just had to be done or the circle of knowledge would get too great to keep it quiet. Was it a just deserts for that "unpopular someone" on the squadron who was a complete social hand grenade the night before.
Whatever the reason for the aircraft being stopped it was the right thing to do.
