I've just made an uckers board for my section and was informed by a 26 yr old cpl

that he didn't know how to play because it was an old sweats game, is this a dying

tradition, just wondering what else is not being passed onto the younger

generations, I'm going to see who hasn't played Shackleton Bombers at the next beercall. :PDT_Xtremez_15:

Biggest thing not being passed down to younger generation is...................

Respect to those who are set above them through time served and promotion.

Twitter and bisted ?? YOU BET!

I've just asked the people I'm on shift with if they know how to play Uckers and apart from the engineers, I was met with blank expressions.....................

Shameful. Time to try and find an old Uckers board. :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Now I know that tradition does get passed on. From my hazy recollection you were crewchief and I was pilot with four brand spanking new LAC's as engines 1-4 fairly recently :D

all the Jnr Offrs being in the bar at 1700 sharp on a friday. At Wyters, at 1700 on a friday you are lucky to have the bar staff for company.

seriously depressing.

Officers behaving like officers.

SNCOs behaving like SNCOs.

Airmen haven't changed - they still try it on.

Being more parochial:

Dining-in nights being a parade.
Saluting?
A good old bollocking.
An orderly room (ie one that doles out a couple of days jankers as opposed to being elevated to Courts Martial)
NAAFI Bop.
Happy hour
Officers' vs. WO & SNCOs' Mess games nights
Flying?

If in your pursuit of Morale are you are advocating the liberal showering of inexperienced members of the service with beer etc? I hope you have followed all the relevant H+S/COSHH rules.
I don't think that it will have the same effect if you have to dress them in the relevant PPE first. That is not to mention the cost of the counselling when the said junior members of the service claim Post Traumatic Stress/Harrassment/Bullying.

Shame on you CP..:PDT_Xtremez_42:

I always thought that the three man lift was better anyway.:PDT_Xtremez_15:

Here Here! Too many scroats asking for counseling if you deliver a one way conversation. Just told a bloke to get his hand out of his pocket (would have been both but he had his mobile in the other) he looked at me gone out! However those that know me are aware of the power of my voice, he left chastened! as did his mates that were flocking around him.
