A sensetive question here.

We lost a family member two years ago. KIA in AFG.

The EC was awarded and the mother of the Son who was KIA has been told she will receive the EC.

The Father wishes also to have the EC to remember his son but as one has already been effectively issued, he has found it it is a no go to get one issued to hi in rememberance of his son.

Is there a process available to allow the EC to be issued to him as well? Or is there a policy of "one service death, one EC"

Any info gratefully received.

Thanks

TW

According to Wiki, it's only "recognised Next Of Kin".
Next of kin have the choice of a public presentation by the local Lord Lieutenant or a senior officer, or a private ceremony. Only the recognised next of kin receive the cross and miniature, but other relatives are able to request the issue of additional scrol

I assume that Mother and Father are divorced? If so best bet is to write to SPVA Medals to seek their guidance on the matter however I doubt you will get the response you want.
