Any comments or thoughts from last nights game?

Did Becks prove himself? Where we as flat as ever? Anyone got any more confidence in us qualifying for the Euro's? Is Lampard a waste of skin in an England shirt?

Discuss.

Beckham was revitalised - amazing what a spell out of the England frame can do for you.

Lampard was the usual overweight, overrated bollox we've come to expect when he's not getting his 30 pieces of silver in a blue shirt, the w@nker.

Owen was ok, good link-up with Beckham and Dyer, but Gerrard proved again he should be the captain and not necessarily Terry, although he took his goal well. I thought the new lad Shorey was very promising.

Alan Smith was disappointing, but then again he doesn't get to play much at Manure does he?

Sloppy goal to give away in the 92nd minute, though...

Another average display.

When are we going to score a goal through 'open play'. Brazil looked like scoring at will and I'm surprised it took them so long.

As far as 'Sir' David is concerned, it was business as usual. He wandered inside into central midfield positions, which left the right side of midfield barren when a pass was on. Jamie Carragher was never going to get into advanced position to fill the gap that Beckham continually vacated. Yes, he got an assist, but it was a case of 'as you were'.

The new look forward line was hopeless. Smith has confirmed that he is another in a long line of good Premiership strikers but are found wanting at International level.

Owen, is another one of those players who makes good reading but is no way 'World Class'. Kaka is World Class, Thierry Henry is World Class. Michael Owen most certainly is not, never has been and never will be. It reminds me a bit of the story of 'The Emperor's New Clothes'; everyone jumped on the bandwagon, scared to say what was obviously the truth.

When the substitutions were made the tempo immediately increased to the sort of level that we are accustomed to in the Premiership. That was encouraging - looks like we have a Plan B in place.

All in all, if we produce a similar performance on Wednesday then we should be sorted, although we must retain possession of the ball a lot better than we did in this game.

6 out of 10. No cutting edge from open play and the goalkeeper has me worried at times.

Why is Alan Smith in the England squad? I don't remember him being in so much demand when he was on form scoring goals. Becks did well, best delivery in the England team.
Big thumbs up for Nicky Shorey on his debut!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

He's deserved his chance. Why Wes Brown as well!

However, we should beat Estonia...........just!
