Any goaters been on this exped - I am off next week and was wondering if anyone had any gen - Cheers - I know hard life 2 weeks sailing in Antigua - don't you just hate the RAF

Pack very light, space is limited.
A head torch is invaluable, flip flops, for ablutions on land, plenty of sun block and a hat.
In my case, a good sense of humour. We hit a rock an hour out of Jolly harbour on the first days sail, punched a hole in the steel hull, got thrown around as the boat violently listed while teetering on top a reef. and to top it off, when the pan pan turned to a may day the reply from the harbour master at Jolly Harbour was -----( in your best Caribbean accent) " There's no rescue service today man, its Sunday." :PDT_Xtremez_35:

END EX

Its not called adventurous training for nothing!

P.S I have sailed loads since and can't recommend this exped enough.

Cheers - I have done a medsail before on a 55 footer - did you go out and about a bit and see other islands - hope the seas weren't too rough

It will depend on weather and what your skipper wants to do but it may be up for debate.

Our plan was to sail south, 250 miles to union Island then back via st Lucia, Dominica and Montserrat. We only managed about 2 miles!!
For the rest of the exped, the boat was up on stilts.

The weather was perfect while we were there in March, if anything, not windy enough.

Hope you have a great time.

Thanks looking forward to it -come back with my base tan ready for my posting to Cyprus - it's a hard life

Dont forget to take a camera with you so you can post the pics, so we all know just what we are missing:PDT_Xtremez_30:
