Hi guys, I'm needing help from all of you who know what I'm entitled to whilst on a course!
I'm from Lossiemouth on a fairy q at marham, living in a hotel for 83 nights in kings Lynn (15 miles) from marham. There are 3 of us from Lossiemouth doing the same course, 2 living in 1 hotel, the other in another. We have 1 service car.
The questions I would like answered are, 1) due to the course content and simulator space there may be times when we get a day or two not required to be in, does that mean we still have to travel into marham for our meals? And 2) do we have to travel in to marham at the weekends for our meals, even though mt have told us the car is not to be used sat or sun!

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you get it in writing from MT that it is not to be used at weekends. You know and I know that what they mean is that you are not to use it as a runaround. How you phrase this question will result in whether you get top cover for whacking in on JPA for a curry every Saturday night!

However, as they have barred you from using it, can I check that you are getting GYH(M)? Technically if you have a service vehicle you shouldnt get it, but if they have banned you from using it...

I think you'd be entitled to day subsistence at weekends given that neither a Core Meal in a PAYD Unit or an Entitled Casual Meal in a non-PAYD Unit can be purchased and you are over five miles from Marham.

Not sure on your specific questions, but if you are in the Ramada for that length of time I feel sorry for you.

The rooms are tiny, you don't even have a wardrobe in them, just an alcove with a rail to hang stuff up.

It had pretensions of having a posh restaurant but the food is nothing particularly special. Top tip though, go and buy a pint at about half past nine. That is when they start closing down the restaurant and they seem unable to do this without emptying the till and leaving it that way for 20 odd minutes. I normally got a pint which I then paid for with the next one, but it is shift change at 10 and the staff who don't really give a sh1t would often wander off without bothering to get the money.

Good internet though.

Little bit OT but if you like a decent brew then go down the a10 towards downham and as you hit a village called setchey (locals call it setch) you will see a car garage on the right hand side, turn right down there and 100 yards away is beers of europe - warehouse packed with lots of good brews.

Yeah in the ramada!

OT
I was there for a good while a couple months ago, if the French lass still works there and if your extra nice she'll order in drinks at the bar if they dont have what you like! It's a shame the busty receptionist left while I was down there though. Was great fun ringing the reception with my mobile to see her run from the restaurant to pick up the phone!
