Well it's nearly here......and as usual both teams have produced cup "songs".....take a listen.

My fav is the Cardiff City effort but then again I'm slightly biased.

Crack on Cardiff...................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Best of luck to the Bluebirds they have played well to get there. :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Grand slam and FA cup in one year, dare we dream the dream !! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Yeah,

Good luck to Cardiff in the final.

The only non English team ever to win the FA cup back in 1927.

Lets hope they can repeat that.

Also......Good luck to the Hun tonight.

What makes it even sweeter is the fact that the FA has said that they will put Cardiff through to represent England in the UEFA cup when we win !

Crack on.....................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Heart says Cardiff - JFH was a good player for the Boro.

Head says Portsmouth - plenty of quality throughout the team.

Had the BBQ.........beer is flowing well........lets get down to it...

Slightly Off Topic

Did anyone else feel that the National Anthems were not required ?

It was not a national event but a team event.....not everyone in the Portsmouth team was English and not everyone in the Cardiff team is Welsh.

Just seemed inappropriate to me.

Thoughts ?

my thoughts on it

Like the singing of 'Abide with me' the National Anthem is always sung at Wembley before the Cup Final. I can only assume that somewhere along the line someone pointed out that if just 'God save the Queen' was sung it would get drowned out by the Welsh supporters wanting theirs to be heard as well so as a compromise both were sung.

Can you imagine the uproar over the bridge if 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau' wasn't heard before a Welsh team played in a major match?

As it turned out both were booed, to a certain extent, by the opposition so situation normal there then.

on the match itself, totally neutral on this one so i was pleased just to watch a good game of football and probably the right result, i think Pompey were just about the best over the 90 minutes

As a neutral I thought the game was quite poor, especially in the second half. But Portsmouth did what they had to do to win it. And that is what matters.

I just though Cardiff werent sure what to do in second half, their midfield didnt really push on and they werent sitting in. But there was very little space in behind Porstmouth as their full backs played very conservativly after the break.

As for the national anthems, im not so sure. Wehn they went down the Porstmouth team there were only 3? English players. But it is FA Cup tradition. And i guess they had to have the Welsh anthem as well.

....and you'd know being a Gers fan! :PDT_Xtremez_42:

I think that is what i said. Same goes for my team. Were yours in a Uefa Cup Final this year?
