Commiserations to Wigan, one club I'm sorry to see go down.

Personally I wanted them to win on Saturday but I am not sorry to see the back of a consistently half empty DW stadium. There are clubs throughout the country who would do anything to get in the prem. Just my opinion.

I was referring to the fans who turn up week in week out. Half empty stadiums in the premiership are a slap in the face to lower league clubs with higher attendances. IMO

They are, but every team who play in the premier league are there on Merit. The likes of Leeds, Sheff Wed, Forest etc have a chance every season to return there, but their on-field failures mean they will continue to sit in the 2nd/3rd tiers, regardless of how many fans they have.

What's this? You fancy Plymouth for the Premier League?

Regarding Wigan and other clubs that do well in cup games but haven't the stamina for the league, it's a sad fact that pies will give a short-term energy boost but the resulting belly will hold players up somewhat, especially when they have to trundle a wheelbarrow in front to contain it. :fat:

Mate you are missing my point. Absolutely nothing to do with on field. That isn't what grips my sh!t. What does is seeing a half empty stadium except when they play united. I just think its a waste that's all. Fair play to the manager and the players but am I looking forward to hull and Swansea being in the prem next year? As I've been to both grounds in the lower leagues with a great atmosphere and fans... Yes. Will I miss seeing wigan's empty seats... No. It was just a small point and just my opinion.
