Lunchtime today (Sat 10th Aug) live via your Sky telly box. From the beautiful, well appointed, magnificent Crown Ground the Mighty Accrington Stanley take on Pompey. Expect a bumper crowd of just below 2,000, a few stewards and maybe half a dozen coppers all assembled to cheer on both teams. Pompey fans probably set off yesterday to make the long trip North. With both teams losing their respective opening league matches by a massive 4-1 I don't expect a 0-0.

The away end still has no roof, not a problem in August but not good for an early Feb rainy midweek game. I've never seen the pitch looking so good usually it resembles a beach. The Sky camera tower was sited on the worst side of the ground so only the best three where on show to the world. Pompey were the better side for long periods of the game though Stanleys first goal was a cracker. Ref got the Pompey penalty right too. 2-2 about right.
