Need some info.

Job, Area, Housing, Schooling etc

Just because that is what is says on your Assignment Order, it doesn't necessarily mean you will be in that post. You get posted into the 90SU gene pool & the wobblies look to see where the people are needed most.

Not liking that, FGW sounds like the best area to be in.

Guess I will just have to contact 90SU and see what the score is.

It would be handy to no what I am doing before I arrive.

Any area in particular that would be worth contacting.

Unfortunately the way it works is the WO triad (90SU, TCW & FGW) look at your skill set and decide where to put you for your 4 years.

The posting noticies should be changed to 90SU posting noticies, as they can put you where they want, regardelwhere your posting notice says
 
This is very true. I was posted to 90SU Eng Maintenance on promotion to corporal. I ended up being on a Field Comms Squadron. I previously worked on heavy radar and am now on field comms which i have no idea about!!

Surely not. I am sure it is an order (clue is in the name) and is therfore unquestionable and set in stone. The drafters will have already used their skill and judgement to get the right people in the right slots.
For a couple of old WO to then start messing with such a perfect system just cos their mates want off the field sqn is surely wrong and against QR's. If manning are reading this I hope they clamp down on such behaviour......

As far as schools area and housing go well I don't have a clue sorry. I have heard the quarters are a mixed bag some old but spacious, but there seems to be some investment going in to the area, play parks and clubs.

Manning have agreed to it, postings are managed at unit level.
 
Wow, another glorious advert for TCW - no wonder people turn it down when offered promotion; you'll be pushed into the job nobody wants!

That is completly true about the three amigos (WO's) cherry picking who goes where, so do not take any notice of the draft notice. Also the desk are complete liers, you have to do a 4 year tour regardless of if you are on TCW or FGW.

As for the camp and quarters, the camp is not great, already been woken up a couple of times by drunken pongos on the lash. the quarters are old and small and most people can not get broadband, the ones that do can only get 1/2 a meg, its the worst camp I've been to.

Could worse though, it could still be at brize!
