Hi All,

I should know the answer to this but honestly can't remember. Can anybody tell me how long it is after your last day of service you receive your final pay for the month that you left in? Does this get paid with your lump sum or not?

Cheers

Never was a shiney but when I left I was told your lump sum could take a month or so but it actually came in with my final pay packet. I left on the 30th of the month, the pay run was the 31st and I got the lot.

If that helps

Pay is separate from Gratuity (Lump sum). Gratuity may take upto 30 days to be paid.

KG, I will let you know. My comments on Fb with totally unconnected to this thread, but on the same theme.

I should get paid on 30 Apr as normal and then get gratuity within 30 days of that and your pension is paid on the last working day of the month (not as pre-JPA when you got it on the monthly anniversary of your discharge date). You should get a letter in your last pay month explaining - but as of today haven't received mine yet.

I left the RAF last November, my final day was a Monday and my gratuity was in my bank the following Friday, in fact, they phoned me asking if I was expecting a large payment in to my account.

Interesting - I left post-JPA and my pension is paid on the 10th of the month!

My wife left on the 1st of the month and this is the day she gets her pension.

Lump sum can take up to 30 days but in most cases it's about a week (but don't bank on it until it's there - it's much nicer to be surprised when you go to the cash point rather than checking and let down)

Final Pay

Thats one of the best surprises I've ever had. Was told I'd have to wait for 30 days, so I went into town on the Saturday after I my last day(which was a tuesday) to withdraw my last £20 and couldn't believe my balance. Had to go and sit down then went back to the cashpoint and withdrew £100 and went and got bladdered didntvget back home till Sunday afternoon. Come Monday the bank where on the phone would I like a financial checkup, invest my money etc. No thank you I said it won't be staying there long got things to spend/waste it on.
