I've heard a rumour that suggests that if we don't pass the fitness test twice a year it will mean no bounty.

This is quite a jump from 'attempt the fitness test once a year'

Anyone else heard anything to this affect?

Get over it! In the TA we have had to pass a Combat Fitness Test since 99. If you don't like it pack your kit, hand it in and join the girl guides!

So if you don't train you don't get a training bounty, seems obvious.

Members of the regulars are losing their jobs if they don't pass it, at least you're not getting kicked out.

Fraid so pal.

No pain no pay, or promotion come to that. If you want the wonga you have to pass it twice per year and it'll turn up on the NJAR/SJAR thingy too.

Still it don't matter to me now anyway as I'm well and truely over the hill but still managed to pass my final compulsary fitness test in Feb so I only do it if I feel like it, and to show up the other slack b'stards who are much younger than me.
