Apparently adobe has installed a later version of flashplayer on my laptop but when I try to view stuff I get the message you need to install flash player. I tried that and adobe installer tells me version 9.0 is correctly installed.

What do I need to do to get it to work?

My laptop is Vista.
 
I'd try it again, but getting rid of the original before cracking on.

Go here and get the Flash uninstaller. Run it and re-boot.

Then go here and re-install it.

Not a fool proof method, but it might just sort it out.
 
Had the same prob....Asked me to update, when I did it failed to work and wouldn't let me view youtube and stuff.
I just used the system restore and ignore the reminders from Adobe.

Tried CJ's restore and that did the trick:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Gem, out of interest what version of flash player are you running now ? Click on this LINK to get version details. Just checked our vista comps and all running WIN 9.0.124.0 with no probs (our XP comp is also on this version with no probs)

according to your linky I have win9.0.124.0 whatever that means.

It is working and I'm happy
