I press the button on the key fob and there is a click at the tailgate but it doesn't open. Tried pressing down on the tailgate whilst trying to open it, had a look from the inside and sprayed some lube around the bit of the hook that I could see and still nothing. Rest of the car is fine, less than 3 years old. Any ideas (Cheap/Free preferrably)?

Is the boot over full, ie pressing on the tail gate.

If it's under three years old get it down to ford as it'll be under warranty, get a proper fix as well as any bodge job may last until your warranty runs out but not much longer.

Nothing in the boot - just wondered if it was a common problem and if there was an easy fix. 3 years is up next month!!

Is there a secret button you have inadvertently pressed that secures all but the drivers door? I know some cars have an anti car jack button and some to stop the kids fekkin around opening doors

Off TopicIf the boot is a tad over full try moving your wages to a more central location in the vehicle:PDT_Xtremez_30:Off Topic
Thanks for the tip TB but there's never any wages left after the Ayatollah has got her hands on it!!

Rest of the doors are working fine, just the tailgate. I'll get it to the garage this week and they can sort it hopefully.

This happened on my S-Max. If I remember correctly, it had ruptured a fuse. I'll check with the other half when she returns later.

Edit to say that I didnt notice your audible "click" in your original post, ruling out the fuse. The other half said that we ended up taking it to a garage to sort out, since it needed a new latch.

Off Topic As an aside. If youre still under warranty and get the "Alarm Service Required", get it sorted. It cost me £300 to get that fixed...what brought it to a head was the wipers not functioning(!) forcing me to get it sorted. Off Topic
