I'm a 17 year old student from Hertfordshire. I'm looking to join the RAF as a pilot, preferably piloting a Eurofighter Typhoon. I've always been interested in aircraft and used to fly RC planes when I was younger. Also my Dad was in the Army with the REME, so a military job has always interested me.

I left school at 16 with 2 A's, 3 B's and 4 C's at GCSE. Not perfect but it gets me onto most courses at A-level. I've done a BTEC ICT National Award Level 3 this year. It's worth one A-level but I won't be following it on for a 2nd year as I don't believe it gives me enough of a change to join the RAF.

I'm aiming to start an A-level course, taking 3-5 subjects starting September. Hopefully, Maths; Physics; English Language; Chemistry and another subject if they let me. Also need to get fit to join obviously so I'll be working hard on that. Going to book an eye test also to see if they are good enough before I do anything else.

Cheers guys,
Fraz.

Welcome to the Goat. A quick word of caution though, being able to pilot a specific aircraft is not all about ability, you also have to be able to fit in the aircraft (within very specific body dimensions). What I'm saying is that not everyone who has the potential to fly a fast jet, will actually get their hands on the controls. If you think about what the aircrew sit in, in a fast jet, it's obvious really.
