Good on the Gooners

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
They prolly thought that paying £3000 yearly gave them the extra perk of being able to spit on rivals. Are they going for (part) refunds?:PDT_Xtremez_31:

Goodison park 1984 FA cup semi final Man United v Liverpool, United end. How about golf balls with nails in them being thrown at you (I kid you not), flares being chucked across and a happy ending, all the buses being bricked on the way back to Edge Hill railway station, to then be bricked on the united specials.
Boys and girls after following United for 32 years you really have not seen anything in these sanitised days of the premiership, and you should count yourselves lucky that a few people spitting at you is all you get!

I don't think you're the only one here who has followed football for that long and seen all the nastier side that goes with it mate, and comparing todays PL match environment to those of yesterday is like comparing Dickensian childcare with todays, largely invalid. 40 years plus, and I've experienced the rivers of urine down the terraces, the darts chucked across from one set of fans to another, pitch invasions and legged it down strange alleyways in towns I don't know. Just because we had that sordid side to the game then doesn't mean we should be grateful that spitting is all we get now.
Many fans don't like all seater stadia but the introduction of all-ticket, all seater matches with CCTV coverage has seen the majority of those who may be of a mind to cause trouble think twice as they are not too difficult to identify and ban.

I know nobody likes the blue and white $hite:PDT_Xtremez_15:, but that was a bit harsh, mind you, i'd be spitting if i was paying £3000 a year to watch my team end up just scraping the top half of the table at the end of this season:PDT_Xtremez_34:

I refuse to listen to any lectures on behaviour at football matches from a follower of Sh1te united!

I was at Old Trafford the day 96 Liverpool fans died listening to your sickening scumbags cheering the news of every freshly reported death. It has remained the single biggest reason to hope that your sh1te club never win another game.

And no I am not a Liverpool supporter!

That exactly explains my point although I'm not sure you realsied it when you wrote it :PDT_Xtremez_15:. Kids in Dickensian times often had an utterly sh1te and short life and they are generally much better looked after now. That doesn't mean that when we hear of tragic cases that we should be thankful that at least it isn't as widespread and almost officially sanctioned as it was back then.
Similarly, the instances of football related thuggery and nastiness are nowadays quite rare; doesn't mean we should be thankful that this is all we have.
