Split-Brain

I've finally found what I was looking for, a world full of like minded souls.
Ex-brat from Halton of the rigger/sooty persuasion.
Spent my whole career on flying squadrons, fast jet and helicopter.
Did my time - way past the 22 - and PVR'd 6 yrs ago from the best job I'd ever had (at the end of my tour, naturally).
Miss the banter and hope to find it here. Don't disappoint me.
I'm now a "Rects Controller" on a gas rig - and these have LITS as well !!!
(Whatever became of it?)

Welcome Slit Brain from a fellow ex-goat herder of the 148 entry persuation (well after you old man!).:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Welcome to the Goat - what on earth do they use LITS for on a gas rig, that's a new one, I will have to put that into the LITS training notes.

A Rects Controller on rigs????? How does that work then?

Greetings from a still serving split-brain of the 1st (and premier) entry of split-brains. Hope you enjoy the goat.

Judging by what you've said you must be an ex 123 Entry. If that's the case our time at that hallowed home of the appo overlapped. I was a 126, the Fire-Fighting entry (remember the Firemans strike, the first one back in 77/78 not the more recent piddling excuses).
Looking at your past squadrons and comments from some of your posts we've also walked some of the same ground, must of it around the rotary-wing world. Walter the Wessex, Sidney the Sea King and Pierre the Puma.
22, 202, 72 78.
I've got this eerie feeling I know you.
I take it "The Swift" became "The Lair" when the Walter finally bowed out over the water? Have one in there for me, so many happy times, so many good memories.

When 230 and 72 amalgamated in 2002 the new 230 Winko decided to rename "The Swift" as "The Lair" and take out most of the memoribilia and just have a 72 Sqn memorial corner, much to the disgust of the groundcrew most of them wanted to keep it as it was or at least change very little.

123 Entry it was in Kestrel Block, only about nine of us left now out of 150. I remember your Entry arriving. Will certainly have a beer in the Swift for you, but it will be more than one for cetain. Walter "Full Metal" Wessex; the queen of the skies. PM me your details if you want to swap some war stories.

Hey up SB, I was 126 too, but of the fairy variety at the Midlands skool! Welcome to the goat!

Didn't do the French Appo exchange trip in '78 did you?:PDT_Xtremez_15:
