As mentioned on another thread elsewhere I am a learner when it comes to playing guitar, and apart from a few lessons my greatest aid has been a website called www.Justinguitar.com which I fully recommend for anyone wanting to learn.

I have just visited the site and am dismayed to see that due to legal issues Justin has had to remove all TAB from his site. From what I understand Justin has transcribed all his own stuff as well as producing video clips to demonstrate strumming techniques etc., yet he has been threatened with legal action.

I have been threatened with legal action so I have had to remove the TABs and chord/lyric sheets from the site. Some companies are determined to get the toothpaste back into the tube with a toothpick...

So after consulting a good music specialist lawyer it seems that I have no case for giving away the tabs here. It's a sad day, but all the tabs are gone, you will have to search elsewhere on the internet to find them. I don't imagine it will be too hard anything you want in the world biggest library! I always thought that "fair use" actually meant something and that I could give a small amount of tabs here as an educational tool. But no.

The reason for me being asked to take them down is because of the revenue that a sheet music company would make if people bought the tabs. We all know that if people don't get the tab here they will find it elsewhere. I very much doubt the people would have actively sought to buy tabs, you would have just got them someplace else. But I am now going to try and get permission from publishers to get some up here for free and get some others that you might have to buy to feed the publishing companies.

With the amount of sites out there that are dedicated to TAB it seems ridiculous that this site is being targeted. Is it simply a case that the other sites are 'faceless', so it is easier to pick on a site where the owner is extremely transparent about his dealings.

Anyway while Justin deals with the issues can anybody recommend any other tab sites, that include strumming techniques.

Hiya Mate,

I picked up the guitar for the first time about 20 months ago and not looked back.

If can read guitar tab then this is the combo I use to learn all my new songs.

If you can run to about £50 ish then download some software called Guitar Pro. It’s absolutely brilliant!!!! It shows you how the songs go, timing of the notes, song speed ect... You can slow the song right down and listen to it at 1/4 of the speed if necessary.

The tabs I down load are from a website called ultimate guitar (Google it) their are totally free and have a star rating, so if you upload a five star song its going to be top notch.

Trust me, its the way to go! You'll be smashing out Metallica - Master Of Puppets in no time!!

The website are:

www.guitarpro.com
www.ultimate-guitar.com

Hope this hopes

I downloaded Biffy Clyro's "Many Of Horror" in TAB a few days ago - for free.

Its a bit tricky, but worth a go.
