Retired rigger

Guest
As my screen name indicates, I am a long since discharged ex-rigger. I was an airframe craft apprentice, 214 Entry at Halton 1969 -1971, and served at a few exotic and now mostly closed locations including Salalah, Brawdy, Wyton, St Athan, Valley, Oakington. I went out to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia with BAC for a while, spent time with civil aircraft operators including the Met Police, ended up in Aberdeen on helicopters where I finally became involved with HUMS development.

I now work in the oil and gas industry, and am on the rundown to full retirement in a few years. I found the site ages ago but have only just got round to registering.

Regards

Martin

Welcome, always nice to have another rigger on board, it helps to keep the plumbers in check when they get uppity.

We do like Rigga's

When were you with the Met?

Hi all (serving or ex)

Hi all (serving or ex)

Hi all.

Another "cold war warrior" who found the forum by asking Google to tell me how to apply for the pension.

Like retired rigger, I was able to see some exotic places at the tax payers expense. Most of the stations I went to are now shut or, MOD bases. How sad it is to see.

Ex ROT at Digby, Cyprus, and then with 591 SU, a load of places near and far.

Now with the NHS and thinking that the reforms (thanks to the condems) will give me a great opportunity to take the pensions and enjoy myself.

Always remember - get the buggers before they get you!!!!!!

Welcome, young Dicky!

Like you, I went from the RAF to the NHS. I note you attribute your success to condems - well, at least it wasn't condoms or even condos (some friends of mine have one of the latter in Cyprus).

Don't let the *******s grind you down!Off Topic
