Just wanted to say a hello to everyone, My name is Oliver and I am going to join up as a Weapons System Operator/Linguist, -hopefully- during this summer, been looking at the forums for a while but thought I would register on this as a precursor to joining the airforce itself.

The AFCO personnel said that I would end up at a place called "Chicksands" which I asked them if that is where they filmed the UK version of baywatch..... I cant believe they didnt seem to find it even remotely funny and it was made worse by the fact I laughed at the joke myself...:0

You'll fit right in!

And Welcome to the Goat :PDT_Xtremez_34:

Welcome.....What languages do you already speak then?

Well I can speak German which I learned from living there for two and a half years (caused loads of problems with obtaining police clearance for the RAF), and Understand/Get by sufficiently in French, I can read Norwegian and Dutch as well as they are so damn similar to German... Also I am learning Arabic and Russian in my free time but will take those far more seriously in the RAF.

Just really cannot wait to continue my education in the RAF and actually use what I have learned, ha I spent so many years doing Networking Admin certifications to end up as a bloody post office clerk. (Although in that job I have met so many Veterans and heard so many stories of their experiences in the forces which has only hardened my resolve to join the force and also how let down they have been over the years - well at least they have me to take them out for a pint or two whilst I am still there:PDT_Xtremez_30: )
