Hello from my desk. I have recently left the front end and feel that this will be an excellent way to keep me embroiled in the hot waters of steamy RAF life. Having read some excellent posts I look forward to introducing a few anti appo themes as Sausage 2 seems to be fighting way above his weight.

IF sausage2 is fighting above his weight it must be one heck of a fight.

Welcome Sumo, think I've been missing out on the steamy side of RAF life, Just a bit damp around here!!

Greetings from another desk.

Now that the nice bit is over:

BITE ME HALF-BRAIN. Anyway, there are no more appos, the scheme ended in June 1993. All heavies are equal now, it's just that all of the EX-appos are more equal than you dullards.:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Hope that pubic lice the size of lobsters invade your crotch.

Oh yeah, S2 would find it difficult to fight above his weight (he was quite "big boned" last time I saw him).

Could this be the first Introduction to get moved into Fight Club?

Obviously you failed the 'Elite' entrance test at the CIO unklike the sorts of myself, S2 et al.......never mind eh!

Welcome Sumo, don't worry about the appo's on here there all like S2........fat, gay wasters :PDT_Xtremez_17:

so you're just a fat waster then??

Yep. Although, as one of Trenchard's Finest I find that this has barely slowed my meteoric progression through the ranks.

Appos were the best of the applicants, so my natural skills, honed during 3 years of the best training available have seen me fly to the dizzying heights of SNCO after a bit more than a decade as a JNCO (timed promotion but thoroughly deserved).

I'm lazy, but when you're as good as an ex-appo you don't have to try too hard to excel.:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Touche :PDT_Xtremez_14:

I've nothing against Appos

After spending twice as long as DEs to get trained, they are just as good.

Ah, words of wisdom from someone who, by their own admission is "Pleased to say I've never worked 1st or 2nd line".

I presume you mean they are just as good at plugging black boxes into other black boxes and then swapping whichever PCB the box tells them to. My son could do that (and he's 10).

A decade for time promotion? You been a bad lad then?:PDT_Xtremez_25:

Welcome in Sumo. Sh1t hot intro, and the likes of TLS are just bitter cos it took 3 years to beat the fundamentals into them!

Welcome to the goat Sumo - always good to have another 2nd class techie on here - Enjoy!

No, I'm clean as a whistle (investigated for theft as a JT but it turned out to be a couple of coppers - ISK 1994). Timed promotion turned up on time, it was the one I had to work at that took so long:PDT_Xtremez_31:

SIGH... A Good Intro Always Works

SIGH... A Good Intro Always Works

Being a DE I feel that the apprentice scheme was just a way of producing the future feminine side of the RAF (the RAF board must have known that homosexuality was going to be allowed) by making the boys live together for three years or more (depending on how bad their anal damage was). In that way I dont feel that it has failed.
We all know that mechs are hard as F**K, DE's are the brains of the outfit and Apprentices are school and social misfits whose parents couldn't afford to send them to university. Anyway thanks for the warm welcome.
