Hi, just a quick one to introduce myself. I'm Alan and I'm currently in the application process for the RAF. Passed my AST yesterday, looking at going into Personnel Support and have my initial interview in a couple of weeks.

When I got my results yesterday I also noticed Aerospace Systems Operator is open for applications which also sounds like a role I'd enjoy so I may look into that too.

Anyway, hi to everyone!

I'm a bit biased, but stick with Personnel Support! Which office are you applying through?

Stick with your first choice, I speak from experience, the ASOP trade is a dead duck

It's always a good idea to consider other trades before signing the dotted line. I changed my mind twice before settling on my current choice. Pop into your nearest AFCO and seek their advice.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I'm dealing with the people in the Wrexham AFCO, have been really helpful and friendly upto now. Had my first formal interview yesterday and it seemed to go well.

As for my trade choice I'm going to stick with Pers Support. Seems to have more oppurtunities for training, travel and a better variety of roles.

I signed on at Wrexham all them years ago, I doubt the same people are there now. Heard nothing but good reports about the recruiters there.

hey! i'm going to Wrexsam tomorrow morning to apply!!! actually....where exactly is it? i dont know wrexsam at all!

hey i'm off the the AFCO in Wrecsam tomorrow, where exactly is it, i don't know Wrecsam at all!

The RAF AFCO is behind the Guild Hall and the Library in town, by the Nat West Bank. Are you driving or going by bus? There is a car park by the Guild Hall and Library

From the bus station, look for the statue of the 2 miners leaning back on 2 poles and walk straight down the pedestrian area until you get to the road, you should see the Nat West Bank on your left, walk past it with it on your left and you'll see the AFCO at the end of the road.
