Hello all...

First thing to clarify - I have never served in the mob as such but am a scaley brat (son of RAF Police FS and grandson of Sgt 'sooty') and was born on a service bed in our AMQ at RAF Swanton Mortuary in 1962.

Have been with the air cadets since I was 13, was an ATC Warrant Officer for 12 years and for my sins (many, numerous, but luckily undiscovered !) took a VR(T) commission 10 years ago.

I instruct cadets and adult staff in weapons safety, rifle shooting and first aid and run the ATC unit in Wembley.

I know a lot of members will probably regard VR(T) / ATC instructors as walts and wannabes and indeed there are some out there that do give us a bad name. Hopefully I can help redress the balance a bit!

I look forward to lively banter !

You're right Jester...everytime I go to Uxbridge for my CCS it's always sunny...and cosy in the chamber!

Welcome to the Goat...The only time I've seen any animosity towards VR(T)/ATC instructors on the Goat was when two of them got stuck into each other on a thread about a year ago!!
