Hello All,

Found the site whilst browsing for RAF info on the net, so thought i would join up.

I applied to join 2 years ago, but failed my medical needed to loose weight, so decided to go to college and get some A'Levels at the same time.

I'm 25 now married and have a 7 year old daughter, so with the roles reversed my husband will be staying at home so to speak while i hopefully pass everything and progress to my basic training.

Now in the process of applying again, so fingers crossed all will go well over the next 12 months or however long it may take.

Carly

Welcome to the goat cazH, there are loads of good threads in the recruiting forum if you fancy a look and good luck with your application.

Hey, thanks for the welcomes ... hoping to join as a WSOp.

I have a lot of learning and reading to do over the next few months, so am starting now before my application arrives...

Bit of an old recruit i guess, but this is something i've always wanted to do, so i figured i'm now at a stage where i'm prepared (as much as possible) for it.

The only thing i must improve is my fitness, which i'm starting in the morning (so if anyone has any tips please forward them onto me lol) It's mainly cardiovascular fitness i need to improve so will be spending the next 6 - 8 weeks getting fitter!

Am really excited about it all, i just hope to god i'm good enough!

Re: the cardiovascular fitness, be careful and ramp up slowly, using plenty of low impact stuff. Don't overdo it like I did - and I've ended up on a waiting list of Physio!

Cross trainers are good, cycling etc - don't go pounding the streets straight off. Build your muscles up first.

Thanks for the heads up - have managed to blag myself a personal trainer for the next 6 weeks, so hopefully he will put me through my paces.

So much stuff to do ... i really want to make sure i am able to join with no problems this time around, so i'm putting 110% into everything. Some people may think i'm trying to lick botty, but the way i see it, it's my career ... so i need to make sure i'm covering every angle possible.

I will keep you all updated with my progress anyway .... thanks again

Carly

Cazh,do you really want to follow the master race around the sky?

Remember aircrew get shot at and fallout of the sky. next best (pay wise)is Techie, get to wave combat aircrew goodbye! then go to the mess for tea and stickys, and hope they come back.

All the same you are most welcome, we look forward to tales of derring do.
