Just thought I'd say hello, I am currently a rigger (heavy) on 33 and have just been posted to Coningsby, which is how I found this site.

Welcome.

I did ten years on Puma's (and Chinooks) - 5 at ODI.

But how does being posted to Coningsby lead you to finding the Goat?

Looking for information on the area and more specifically the married patch and a google search brought me here.

I will miss puma's, it's simplicity and reliability made for an easy life.

There is quite a few goaters at or with experience of Conz, so have a search and fire away with any questions you've got!

And welcome to the Goat

Wellcome to the goat mate..........i did about 5 month of courses at Conn and i hated it...........though i did meet an extremely dirty bird when i was down there:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Thanks everyone, not sure yet exactly where I'm working although I think it's 2nd line depth maintenance, any info would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone know what my chances are of getting a swap onto a Sqn?

I have read some already existing topics on the married patch at Coningsby, but if anyone with any experience of both Benson and Coningsby could give me bit of a comparison that too would be appreciated.

I think you'll be in TMU which is the AMF. It's run by bae not sure what it's like tbh if it's anything like cmu it's probably a bit grim. Swap onto a sqn? I would think pretty slim, sorry, I couldn't be more helpful.

I have heard as much, I have never worked fixed-wing before, so it should be interesting for a while.

If you don't ask, you don't get, but I would prefer 1st line and the chance to swap my bergan for a samsonite, the grass is always greener..........
