Is this thing on..?

I hope you don't mind me joining in. I somehow ended up as an MOD civvy working in an office, but they let me out at weekends to do something reasonably useful - I go maintain an Avro Shackleton down at Coventry airport!

I know from reading some of the posts on here that there's still a lot of love around for the old Shack, so hopefully, I'm in the right place.

Regards,

Rich

Yes, the spark plug is still on the roof!

Rumour says that it hides where you stick the key in to wind the clockwork motor up..

Welcome to the Goat!

I have seen your engineering updates on another forum and I am sure there are a lot of people here who would appreciate them. The Lightning boys at Bruntingthorpe used to post quite regular Q shed updates and they were always well received.

Try and get some pictures up of her if you can, but expect some flak over the paint scheme:PDT_Xtremez_30:he he he!

Thanks! I'll get some pictures up later when I'm not on a work computer.

We always knew the new colours would upset a few (maybe ... ALL?) of the ex Shackleton 8 Sqn guys, but they have one tucked up in the warm at the Science Museum in Manchester that's unmolested.

I'll be interested to see what they think later on... if they haven't seen 'em already elsewhere on the interweb.

Rich
