Hi guys,

Thought i'd join this forum after lurking for a while, so after a colourful career doing all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff im applying for the RauxAF for a new challenge , to be honest i didnt realise they took people up to 50+ :) which is perfect for me, only problem is not sure which branch? quite fancy movers, flight ops or intel? anyone got any advice/pros/cons of each?

cheers

Hi Mate

Just be advised, for moverments you are currently looking at a lead in of 4+ years from induction to deployment. You can do a lot of other stuff in that time, but for the nitty gritty sandy stuff it is going to take a little while.

Just in case this is your desired bag.

cheers fellas for the welcome, replied to your pm cobbler hope you got it? anyways stevie to be honest mate i'll be happy just to be accepted, if i get some sand between me pinkies , great! if not im sure our government or someone elses will get us involved somewhere just in time for me :PDT_Xtremez_42:

RauxAF mover here, SAC, Been in for two years, you can start to apply for taskings after 18 months of joining, and graduating, getting your JABS, Fitness and CCS (Common core skills - weapon and gas chamber) qualys in date.

I've already been on two 1-2 day taskings, one of which was Op Ellamy to Gioia Del Colle and I only graduated in January. However they changed the goalposts recently, I was down to go to Afghanistan this year in September, but you now have to be on the Operational Flight for at least a year, and have completed your ACT (Annual Continuous Training), before you are allowed to go on a six month deployment to Afghanistan.

It's just under 3 years from Attesting to getting a six month deployment to Afghanistan for the Auggie mover trade. However, you can do 1-2 day Op Ellamy Taskings straight after graduation.

I'm a mover and I enjoy it, you get plenty of opportunity to travel and work with some amazingly huge aircraft. i.e. Antonov, C17
