Hello goats this is my first post here.

I'm hoping to join the RAF in the not too distant future. I haven't got as far as going to the career's office and registering my interest as I'm still not sure what route I want to take, although the mover (muppet?) role interests me.

Hopefully, with the help of this forum, I'll be able to gain a better understanding of the RAF and my questions will be answered by the men and women who have actually been there and done it.

Regards,
Reeze

A fine choice of trade for men of intellect. Your wisdom belies your years.

Hahaha. They do seem to receive abit of stick on these forums, its all fun and games though. Whats your thoughts on the movers? Is it a good area to get into, will the RAF be looking to take on civvies to do this role soon. I know that KBR are heavily recruiting.

Well I left quite a few years ago, but I have played in a lot of trades in cluding Techy, stacker, MT and movers, and for me it most certainly is the funnest one to do for any young buck, given all the free travel and lunch boxes, though my understanding is that the destinations are somewhat limited these days. I am not too sure how the base movements flights will be comprised, but it seems to me looking ahead that there will remain ample scope for movers in distant operations and exercises. If you want to get ahead in the trade you will need to upload some basic solid maths if you don't already have it.

Welcome Reeze - only one bit of advice for a mover - DO NOT LEAVE THE MAIL SITTING ON THE PAN IN ASI!!!!!
