I believe that all pensions are dealt with through Glasgow now, but you will no doubt get a definative answer in the morning when the Shinnies get in to work.

Just had a shot at the pensions calculator and given the years, he will probably have been on AFPS 75 which means he starts getting a pension at age 60. Any further info, then look at the main RAF Internet site and go from there.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Your old man is right, his preserved pension will take effect from his 60th birthday (probably, I do not have enough info to be 100% definite). It is not an automatic process though and he will need to apply for it closer to the time.

Further info can be obtained from the JPAC Enquiry Centre. I will PM you the address and phone number if you want.

Pensions

Just for Info,

The pension age is defo 60,

unless due to circumstances he can no longer work, for instance: My dad had to have brain surgery after an anurism and was not able to work again due to menalist problems. :PDT_Xtremez_41: My mum wrote to the Pensions agency explaining all and they began paying his pension aged 57, 3 years earlier than planned. The stress and relief that was alieviated was emmence.

Hoorah for the pensions people:PDT_Xtremez_30:
