Thursday night Channel 5 is showing Heroes of the Skies.

Mrs LT's Grandad is WO John Harrison who was the crews rear gunner throughout and for many years had never talked of these incidents, I felt very humbled when he sat down and told me. Well worth a watch!

It was just superb I remember the large poster in Halton detailing this feet and that he was awarded the VC. This series has been truely educational

Thanks for the heads up. Just watched the one about George Beurling, stunning, and as has been said, so very humbling. Will definitely watch the others at some point.

Watched it with my young daughter tonight, she's 8 and into history, especially wartime history, she was riveted. Really good to show the heroism and bravery displayed by our past comrades.
