Hey chaps, wondering if someone could give me some help. I've currently applied for the university air squadron and my final interview soon. The flt lt said to me that this year they will not talk about current affairs but instead just about RAF affairs and UAS ones too. In terms of current RAF affairs i was planning on talk about: 111 squadron being taken over by 6 sqn and the f3s replaced by typhoons, how the typhoon sqns were grounded last month due to ejection seat failures, 70th anniversary of battle of Britain, SDSR coming out this month which should see the future on which sqns and what airframes will remain and the mods new flap less aircraft. Could any else give me a few more to talk about? Also another question is, why should we keep a RAF and not give the fast jets to the faa and the rotary air frames to the aac?

Many thanks

You were doing OK until you shot yourself in the foot.

What do you think? That's what the UAS will be looking to see evidence of. If you think it would be better to end the 100 year experiment then say so - just make sure you research the topic thoroughly.

Why? The same logic applies as to TBJs answer above....and it won't be anything the staff aren't already thinking about.

Indeed they may well ask you to justify, or not, the continued existence of UASs post SDR as part of the interview itself!

cheers for the advice anything else you recommend before i head in?
