Hi everyone,

just a quick hello seeing as i've started posting at last!

Me? I'm a fairly recent addition to the growbag fraternity after doing quite a number of years on the ground (getting my third the hard way!) ;) just a few years left to my 22. Then the question is do I stay or do I go??

glad to be here and as the name infers - Linux is the future! :D

cheers

Welcome fella.

Almost correct---->>Linux is the present & the future. It is in my world anyway.

Linux is a free operating system for your magic telly. And usually better featured than your standard microsoft system.

Anyways, welcome!

Hi and welcome LinuxGeek....enjoy :raf:

I myself have never really seen the need to dabble in Linux (I used to be a semi-comp geek but that was years ago).

In my new job they use Linux a lot so slowly getting used to it.......can't see it ever appearing on my home computers in the near future though.

Crack on.........................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

thanks for the warm welcome :)

and yes Linux is the present also - i couldn't agree more, i mean, try doing this with vista!

in itself it is purely eye candy, but it does make changing workspaces more fun ;)

the rest of Compiz is actually really useful and does increase productivity - IMHO.

using windows or other OSs without Compiz running feels flat and unfriendly.

cheers

And what use is that exactly ?

Crack on.....................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

a system called Compiz, a part of the linux graphical system, it was in before vista came out, things like the desktop widgets and sidebar in vista were out first on linux.
