Hi folks,
Just joined the fourm today so thought I'd introduce myself. I'm simplesimon, obviously. Currently just a civvie but I'm going through the application process to join the regiment as a gunner at the moment. Can't wait to get my interview and PGAC done and then start the TG course! I'll mostly be lurking around for now but I'm sure I'll get posting soon, mostly with silly questions! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

If I were you, I'd re-think the Regiment option. It appears that you can spell. You'd be the odd one out!

Brill comments lol!!! a man after my own heart! Anyway simon if you really wanna get shot at why dont you join the Para's or the Marines now thats hard core ****e! i did the course you did a few years ago. It was ok but the stupid annoying little cpl got on my tits! so i joined the Army as an officer. Think i got far better training and also you can spell like ping says so why do you wanna be a pebble monkey!!???
 
Iceman, I've never heard of 'Rocks' being refered to as 'Pebble Monkeys' before. Where did it come from - do you know?
 
Well the RM are ruled out, as I'm a bloody useless swimmer!

As for the Army - I'd rather cheesegrate me bo***cks. lol. Don't get me wrong, I've met loads of serving and ex Army blokes, Para's included who are great, but I've also met enough nobbers to put me off. I think the RAF lifestyle is better, from what I've heard from both sides. Joking aside, I did seriously consider the Paras for a while, even did their version of PGAC up at Colchester. I also considered NCO Aircrew before settling back down to my original ambition.
